Reba McEntire releases ‘Could Have Been Raining’ EP

Reba McEntire has released her new Could Have Been Raining EP, arriving Sept. 25 as part of a new wave of country music releases. The project follows the country star’s recent run of new music and continues her work with producer Buddy Cannon, with McEntire also credited as a producer on the title track.

The EP’s title song, “Could Have Been Raining,” was written by Benjamin West, Dave Barnes and Rachel Wammack. The recording features a group of Nashville studio musicians, including guitarists Jeff King and Brent Mason, pedal steel guitarist Mike Johnson, bassist Larry Paxton, drummer Tony Creasman and Hammond organ player Jim “Moose” Brown. Bobby Terry contributes acoustic guitar.

The song’s production was handled by Cannon and McEntire, with Tony Castle serving as recording engineer and Andrew Mendelson handling mastering. The release also includes an official audio video directed by Leah Hetteberg.
