Wynonna Judd is expanding her return to the road with the newly announced The Hard Truth Tour, a run of headlining performances that will support her first solo studio album in a decade, The Hard Truth. The tour announcement follows the release of the album’s lead single, “Kentucky Queen,” and arrives as Judd continues a busy year that also includes dates with Melissa Etheridge on their co-headlining Raised on Radio Tour. The new album is scheduled for release on Oct. 2 and marks Judd’s first full-length solo effort since 2016.
Judd has described the 11-track project as her most personal work to date, saying it reflects years of experiences shaped by heartbreak, healing, faith and perseverance. Produced by her husband, Cactus Moser, the album was developed over a five-year period at the couple’s Tennessee farm. In announcing the project, Judd said, “I’ve spent a lifetime singing about heartbreak, healing, faith, and survival, but I’ve never made a record like this one.” She added that the songs chronicle her personal journey and expressed hope they will help listeners feel understood.
The Hard Truth Tour will feature intimate performances centered on the new material while also drawing from Judd’s extensive catalog of solo hits and music from The Judds. Following Kentucky shows tied to the album’s release, the tour kicks off on October 8, 2026, at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City. The headlining appearances come after Judd spends much of the summer touring alongside Melissa Etheridge, giving fans multiple opportunities to see the Country Music Hall of Fame member onstage in 2026.
The new album and tour continue a creative chapter that follows several years of reflection after the 2022 death of Judd’s mother and longtime musical partner, Naomi Judd. Rather than revisit the past, Wynonna has said the project represents a new phase built on resilience and authenticity. “My hope is that when you hear these songs, you feel what I was feeling while writing and recording them. If they help someone feel seen, understood, or a little less alone, then every hard truth was worth telling.”
